Privacy
We don’t run advertising, we don’t sell data, and we don’t track you across the internet. The only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us through the audit form or the chat assistant, and we use it for one thing: replying to you.
The full breakdown is below. If anything here is unclear, email hello@umberdesignstudio.com.

The details
When you use the audit form on /contact, we receive the fields you submit: your name, email address, current site URL, and a short description of what you want different. Nothing else is required.
If you apply through the collaborator form on /collaborate, we receive your name, email address, the disciplines you pick, your portfolio URL, where you are based, and an optional rate.
Like any web host, our servers (Hostinger) record standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for a short retention window. We do not combine that with the form data, and we do not use it for marketing.
One reason: so we can write you back with the audit you asked for. We do not add you to a mailing list, sell your information, or use it for advertising. There is no list to add you to.
A few service providers process your data on our behalf:
Each is bound by its own privacy terms. We do not share your data with anyone else.
The chat assistant on this site is an automated tool. The messages you type are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes them to generate a reply. We do not use these conversations to train any model, and Anthropic does not train its models on them either.
We may keep a record of chat conversations to understand common questions and improve the assistant. If you choose to share your name, email, phone number, or business details so we can follow up, those are routed to our inbox the same way an audit-form submission is. You are never required to share contact details to use the chat.
Please do not enter sensitive information (passwords, payment card numbers, government identifiers, or confidential business records) into the chat. Replies are generated by software and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Nothing the assistant says is professional advice, a quote, or a binding offer, and no agreement is formed through the chat. For anything that matters, confirm it with us directly by email.
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages help and which don’t: how many people land on a page, how long they read, whether they reach the contact form. No advertising profiles, no remarketing, no data shared with ad networks.
The site asks first. Until you click “Accept” on the cookie banner, no analytics events are sent and no analytics cookies are set. If you click “Decline”, or ignore the banner, that stays the case for the whole session.
If you accept, Google sets two cookies in your browser (_ga and _ga_*) so it can tell repeat visits from new ones. We also store one entry called umber-consent that remembers your choice so we don’t ask again on every page. You can clear both from your browser’s site-data settings at any time.
That is the complete list. No Meta Pixel, no advertising trackers, no third-party cookies beyond what GA4 sets.
Audit-form submissions live in our email indefinitely so we can refer back to past conversations with you. Server logs are rotated by the host on their standard retention schedule (typically days to weeks). You can ask us to delete your submission at any time.
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email hello@umberdesignstudio.com and we will reply within a few business days. If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA. The same email address handles those requests.
If we change how we handle data (for example, if we add analytics or a newsletter) we will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least two weeks before they take effect.
